Current Study

Constipation due to Pain Medications


Do you take a prescription Opioid pain Medication and suffer from constipation?

We are conducting a  clinical research study looking at how well an investigational medication for treating constipation commonly caused by prescription opioid pain medications, like morphine is tolerated over a long period of time.

You may be able to participate if you are:

·         18-84 years of age

·         Taking at least one opioid pain medication daily

·         Experiencing constipation symptoms such as:

o   Fewer than 3 bowel movements per week

o   Hard lumpy stools

o   Straining

o   Sensation of incomplete bowel movement

The study will last for up to 58 weeks and will require 18 visits to the study center so that we can perform tests and monitor your health.
