About Adult Medicine

Our practice provides adult medical services for general internal medicine including routine physical exams, health maintenance and evaluation and management of diabetes, including continuous blood glucose monitoring. We also provide consultations for metabolic bone disease (such as osteomalacia, Paget’s disease of bone, osteogenesis imperfecta, hypophosphatasia, and hyophosphatemia) and bone density testing including body composition with body fat analysis. We offer an infusion clinic for patients needing injectable medications for osteoporosis and other bone disorders. Pre-operative consultations are available to clear patients for surgery and to optimize skeletal health before some orthopedic and neurological procedures. Our staff consists of specialists with advanced training and many years of clinical experience in both adult health care, diabetes and metabolic bone disease. We are dedicated to improving the health of our patients with adult medical disease and to educating other healthcare professionals in order to provide best practice care for patients with bone diseases.

Dr. Lewiecki, Dr. Rudolph, and our Osteoporosis Nurse Practitioner, Desiree Sanchez, are accepting new patients for the evaluation and treatment of osteoporosis, osteopenia, and other bone related disorders. Our new Nurse Practitioner, Crystal Lewis-Hicks, is accepting new patients for primary care.

About Clinical Research

The New Mexico Clinical Research & Osteoporosis Center conducts pharmaceutical sponsored trials (Phase II & III).Phase II trials study and evaluate the effectiveness and safety of experimental drugs or treatments involving large groups of people (100-300). Phase III trials study experimental drugs or treatments on larger groups of people (1,000-3,000). Both phases confirm effectiveness, monitor side effects, and collect information on the safety of drugs and treatments under study. Our dedicated clinical team of doctors and research professionals monitor participants carefully during the trial and remain in contact with them after completion.
